Beckler Peak is an easy hike up to a beautiful 360-degree view. The hike itself is quite boring, but the amazing view at the peak makes up for it. The hike has very easy terrain, you won’t have to worry about tripping or having to climb anything. Although, due to the easy terrain, this hike is very popular, so try to avoid weekends. There is also a long gravel road to the hike, so make sure your car can handle it.
The trail is about 13-kilometres long, with a 670-metre ascent. The trail is very easy to follow, so you won’t have to find your own path. The trail also never goes above a class 1; it’s such easy terrain I gave it a 2.5 on my scale, and it would’ve been even lower if it weren’t for the ending. I completed the hike in about 3.5 hours, which is quite slow, so you could complete it even faster. There is no need to worry about day light as long as you leave before 14 (2pm). Expect lots of snow in the winter.
The first 10-kilometres of the trail is very boring. There’s nothing interesting to look at, along with terrain so easy you wouldn’t even have to look down. Along this section, there is a path to an old collapsed cabin (see point on the map). I will show a photo of the turn off for it below if you want to check it out:
After the first 10-kilometres, the hike starts to become interesting. In this section the landscape is very pretty (see image below). At times, you will be able to see out of the trees, which will show you how high up you’ve walked.
Right before the peak is the hardest terrain of the whole hike. Although, it’s just big rocks you have to walk on to get to the top; you won’t need your hands (see image below).
Anyways, that’s Beckler Peak. Not my favorite hike, not even close, but the summit is quite amazing, surprisingly.
